Prince Harry of Wales, fifth in line for the throne, will marry Meghan Markle next spring. The official royal announcement was made by Clarence House with statements from Prince Charles, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate.

The original engagement took place in London earlier this month, where only the Queen and other close members of the royal family were informed of the intimate proposal. Prince Charles stated that Prince Harry received permission from Meghan's parents and that he himself was "delighted to announce" that the two are formally engaged.
This afternoon Harry and Meghan will stand outside Buckingham Palace where the two will pose for photographs, as well as an interview later in the evening. The Queen and Prince Charles are quoted saying they are "delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness."
Will and Kate also shared their sentiments saying they are, "very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together."
Meghan's own parents said that they are "incredibly happy. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents".
