Although it's been a hot minute since Rihanna graced our ears with new music, she's definitely been keeping busy over the past few years. Not only has she launched Fenty Beauty, her iconic cosmetics line, she also just released a new season of her Fenty designer line, and is still working hard on her inclusive Savage x Fenty lingerie line. Apart from all the side hustles, Bad Gal Riri has also been able to hold down a serious relationship for the last two years. Rihanna talks marriage with Hassan Jameel and fans are shook!
Rihanna recently stared in the film Ocean's Eight, alongside many other amazing women, including Sarah Paulson. The pair sat down with Interview magazine, and Paulson was able to ask Rihanna some questions about her personal life - surprisingly, Rihanna was totally open and honest with her answers.
Paulson asked Ri who she was currently dating, to which the singer responded, "Google it." Paulson then asked Rihanna if she's currently in love, and to the surprise of many she said, "Of course I am." Rihanna is known for keeping her personal life very personal, so it's definitely a big shock for fans to see her so caught up in her feelings.
Paulson then asked Rihanna if she plans on getting married, and there was a telling silence from the singer. "She's silent!" exclaimed Paulson, which provoked a response. "Only God knows that, girl. We plan and God laughs, right?".
Rihanna and Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel have been together for two years now. Jameel is pretty lowkey - he has a verified IG page with almost 40,000 followers, but he rarely posts and doesn't follow anyone (not even his girlfriend???). When asked how she keeps a strong relationship with such a hectic work life, Ri was totally candid.
"It’s only the last couple years that I started to realize that you need to make time for yourself because your mental health depends on it," she started. "If you’re not happy, you’re not going to be happy even doing things that you love doing. It’d feel like a chore. I never want work to feel like a chore. My career is my purpose, and it should never feel like anything other than a happy place. I’ve made little things a big deal, like going for a walk or going to the grocery store. I got into a new relationship, and it matters to me. It was like, 'I need to make time for this.' Just like I nurture my businesses, I need to nurture this as well. I’ll shut things down for two days, three days at a time. On my calendar, we now have the infamous 'P,' which means personal days. This is a new thing."
In the interview with Paulson, Rihanna also stated that she wants to be a mother "more than anything else in life", so who knows? Maybe we'll see Ri and Hassan walking down the aisle and welcoming a little one before we get another album.
