In less than two weeks, Drake managed to get nearly every single one of his former co-stars on Degrassi: The Next Generation to star alongside him in his "I'm Upset" music video. The video was reportedly shot this past weekend, and dropped on YouTube at midnight on Thursday.

What Degrassi fans loved most about the surprise reunion was seeing Drake and Shane Kippel, his on-screen best friend, together again. Shane, who played Gavin "Spinner" Mason on the show, is the first alum to appear in the video. He and Drake walk down the high school hallway side by side, looking all grown up and fresh AF.

Shane says he only found out about the music video a few days before filming but jumped at the chance to spend time with Drake again. Shane says it's been 5 years since he's even been in the same room as him.

"We follow each other on social media, and once in a while we'll reach out to each other," Shane said in an interview yesterday. In January 2013, Shane shared a photo of them with their arms around each other, presumably the last time they hung out.

Yesterday, Shane shared a screengrab of their opening scene in "I'm Upset" with a heartwarming caption - "When I got the call that @champagnepapi had this idea for his next video, the feeling was hard to describe. Then it became real and I further found out that it was a complete @degrassi cast reunion, it suddenly became very clear that this would be a weekend for the history books."

Clearly, Shane continues to admire Drake, even though his rise to fame made them grow apart. "All of the energy, laughter and fun captured in the video was as naturally occurring and genuine as can be," Shane wrote, "No acting involved. Well, except me trying to look as cool as the big man. I can’t thank you enough @champagnepapi for this. None of us can."

Nina Dobrev, who played Mia Jones, commented on Shane's photo saying, "I should have worn waterproof mascara today." Leave it to Drake to pull off the most emotional reunion ever in record time.
