It seems like every year we hear whispers of our favourite shows coming back on the air; the cast reuniting for a movie or spin-off series. For cult classics like Full House, Will & Grace, and Gilmore Girls all our fandom dreams eventually did come true. However it's just been confirmed that the HBO OG gal pal series Sex And The City will not be reuniting for a final go around.
Cast members put to rest the rumor that a third movie would make its way to the big screen only a few days ago. Kristin Davis (aka Charlotte) wrote a heartfelt instagram post saying how much she loved playing Charlotte and how deeply frustrated she was that she couldn't share the final chapter with the fans.
Davis also let fans know that a script for the third movie had been written by hollywood producer Michael Patrick King yet the project would not be moving forward.
Sarah Jessica Parker spoke up on the cancellation of the movie to Extra this past Thursday. "It's over ... we're not doing it... I'm disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie."
There are sources claiming that the movie was set to start filming this Tuesday, yet the project was canned after one of the leading ladies starting making outlandish demands.
The woman is question is Kim Cattrall, the actress who plays PR powerhouse and spunky New Yorker, Samantha Jones. The rumors circulating were that Cattrall pulled out just as filming was set to start and that she was trying to negotiate with studio heads to greenlight another film project for her in exchange for her doing the SATC movie.
To that, Kim responded via twitter saying:
Woke 2 a @MailOnline 💩storm! The only 'DEMAND' I ever made was that I didn't want to do a 3rd film....& that was back in 2016— Kim Cattrall (@KimCattrall) September 29, 2017

She told Piers Morgan during an interview that, "Now at this very moment, it's quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I've been saying [no to] for almost a year,' [or] that I'm demanding or a diva,"
An audience member of Piers Morgan's show leaked details of their conversation to the Daily Mail who broke the story.
She adds that "And this is really where I take to task the people from 'Sex and the City' and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer," Kim continued. "I really think she could have been nicer. I don't know what her issue is. I never have."
In the interview Kim admitted to Piers that while she did not keep in touch with her castmates she also harboured no ill-will toward them. She said she supported the new movie coming out but she wished for Samantha to be recasted or replaced with someone new.
"This isn't about more money, this is not about more scenes, it's not about any of those things," she told Piers. "This is about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another. I'm 61. It's now."
In the end it seems like Samantha Jones fans weren't as upset with Kim's decision to nix the third movie:

But Sex And The City without Samantha Jones... would you watch?
