It's really common for famous YouTubers and Instagrammers to meet Hollywood celebs like Ariana Grande. It's also very common for those YouTubers and Instagrammers to talk about their experiences with said Hollywood celebs on their respective platforms.
A very famous MUA by the name of James Charles did not hold back when he posted his most recent video on YouTube. If you don't already know, last year James graduated early from high school, moved to LA to pursue his make up career and he was quickly made the first ever male CoverGirl spokesperson.
So I retook my senior photos & brought my ring light with me so my highlight would be poppin. I love being extra 💀 pic.twitter.com/7Qu1yu8U2P— James Charles (@jamescharles) September 5, 2016
He rose to fame after he posted this infamous graduation picture on Instagram and Twitter and basically the rest is history. He now has 714,000 followers on Twitter, 3.6 million subscribers on YouTube and 3.8 million followers on Instagram.
So, during his most recent video, he conducted a "beauty battle" between two other famous YouTubers Shane Dawson and Ryland Adams. During the video, they each transformed one half of James' face while asking him questions about his life and vice-versa.
One of the questions that Shane Dawson asked was, "Who's been the rudest celebrity you've ever met?" James quickly went into a story of when he "had a crappy experience with Ariana Grande".
"I really like Ariana. I just had a really crappy experience with her. I went to her show here in LA. I posted a bunch of videos from the night and she had DMed me like "Thank you for coming!" She was so sweet. I was like, "Love you the most ever in the world!" She followed me and DMed me. She was like, "I wish I knew you were coming. I would've loved to have you backstage."
During this time, James suffered from some controversial scandals, including the infamous "Ebola scandal". This was when he was invited to travel to Africa for an event and he joked on Twitter that he would get Ebola.
He went on to say that, he received a lot of angry tweets from her fans, a lot of which were angry with Ariana for following him in the first place. Shortly after, he said that he received tweets from her fans saying that Ariana had already unfollowed him and that he got what he deserved.
James checked and realized it was true. He sent Ariana a message asking what he had done wrong and this was her response. "Hey, babe. I just saw a lot of angry tweets from my fans. I would never wanna disappoint them, so I unfollowed."
He went on to reply, "You have 100 million fans. It's really disappointing that you'd stoop to the level of listening to people bullying me just to appease them, but ok."
Apparently, for Ariana, the whole thing just wasn't that deep. But to James, she had hit a sore spot. After being knocked down so many times on the internet and suffering intense cyberbullying, he had enough. What do you think? Should Ari have stuck to her guns and kept following him, or did she do the right thing?
