One of the One Direction members may be hanging up their boyband attire for a tux, gun and shaken martini soon.
Harry Styles is the latest name to be linked to James Bond, after the 23-year-old singer received the thumbs-up from a leading Bond boss.
Styles received the endorsement from Spectre editor Lee Smith after he received praise for his acting debut in critically acclaimed war movie Dunkirk.
“Harry could do it. If they wanted a younger Bond then why not? He has got it”, Smith told the Daily Star. “Harry is really good and he can go all the way. He is an exceptional talent and a complete natural on camera.”
The speculation means Styles is currently in the running with A-list actors Daniel Craig, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and James Norton.
So could he really be the next Bond? If Styles did land the role, he would become the youngest Bond ever.
"You would have thought you were dealing with a guy with many years of experience," Smith continued. "You would never know that was his first film. If he wants to act, I cannot imagine he would not have a great future."
But don't expect a Bond film from him anytime soon. Daniel Craig previously confirmed that he will return for a fifth film in 2019 before vacating the iconic role, which means the next time we see the British MI6 spy, it will be 2022.
