Jennifer Lawrence is getting some serious criticism after comments she made during the BAFTAs. On Sunday, the 71st British Film Awards were presented at Royal Albert Hall in London. Celebrated actors from all over the globe were invited to share in the glory of their latest films. I'm sure Lawrence was not expecting such an elegant night to go so awry.
Lawrence was set to present the award for Outstanding British Film Award, but before she came out, British star Joanna Lumley introduced her to the stage. Lumley said, "Who better to kick off the whole evening off than the hottest actress on the planet, the ravishing Jennifer Lawrence!"
Admittedly, she was a bit eccentric in her delivery, but I think she was just excited about the show! In typical awkward girl fashion, Lawrence took the stage and said, "That was a bit much, but thank you, Joanna."
I never been so angry as to actually tweet about a celebrity, but that comment to Joanna Lumley was hugely discourteous!!! Get some manners #JenniferLawrence and grow up. You came across as a spoilt brat! Joanna Lumley is thee most kindest lady in your industry. Shame on you!— Kt Byrde (@kt_byrde) February 19, 2018
#jenniferlawrence should apologise to @JoannaLumley. she did nothing wrong and Jennifer thinks she's a goddess. tbh not even a good actress. she should apologise to us for portraying #mystique like a blue statue as well— Matthew Soper (@MatthewSoper4) February 19, 2018
Truthfully, it didn't seem that serious - and if you know J-Law at all, you know that she always plays around and makes jokes at her own expense. It didn't seem like that big of a deal, but she seems to have ticked off the wrong fans.
