Drake Surprised Fans For A Special Guest Performance In LA Yesterday And Things Got Ugly
He deserves better.
Fans can be so savage. Drake was booed off the stage yesterday at a Los Angeles show.
The thirty-three-year-old rapper was set to headline for Tyler the Creator at the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Since the show’s headliner wasn’t announced in advanced, Drake had planned to do a surprise show. The angry fans had apparently been expecting to see Frank Ocean.
As Drake stepped out on stage, fans began to chant “We want Frank!” People were jeering and booing him the entire time he was in front of the crowd.
One fan even shrieked “Nooo” when they realized that Drake, not Frank Ocean, was the final performing show for the night.
According to one concert attendee on Twitter, Drake came out and said he would play three to four songs. Since there were forty-five minutes left of the show at that time, concertgoers assumed there would be another performer after him.
Some annoyed Drake fans took to Twitter to express their frustration with concertgoers booing him off the stage.
At one point, Drake tried to calm the angry crowd and said, “You know, I’ma tell you - like I said, I’m here for you tonight. If you wanna keep going, I will keep going - what song?”
Before he exited the stage, Drake said, “It’s been love. I go by the name of Drake. Thank y’all for having me.”
Tyler the Creator tweeted a series of long, angry messages to the fans who booed Drake at his show last night.
He even changed his bio to say that he was "embarrassed by fans right now."
We’re honestly impressed at how well Drake held it together.
