When a loved one passes away, it can be hard to do anything other than grieve. In Celine Dion's case, she will have to put the grieving aside until further notice because she is still set to play a show tonight in Miami despite news of her mother's passing.
According to many sources, including the CBC, Thérèse Tanguay Dion, aka "Maman Dion," died at the age of 92 sometime last night.
As part of her Courage World Tour, Celine is scheduled to perform tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the American Airlines Arena. So far, news of postponing or cancellation has not been made to this event or any of the upcoming ones.
In fact, quite the contrary. According to Ticketmaster, tickets are still available for the concert, with the cheapest resale price at over $900.
However, it should be noted that there is still a possibility of the show being postponed or canceled.
The Canadian-born-and-raised singer was known for being very close to her mother, who helped launch her singing career. So it wouldn't be unlikely if she decided to take some time off to process her mom's passing.
It comes as no surprise that the internet is too, grieving the loss of Maman.
Comments on the above Twitter post include sincere condolences, sad emojis, and hearts.
