TBH, I haven't thought about Soulja Boy since that awful school dance where the guy I thought was ~*sooooo cute*~ spilled a Dixie cup full of Kool-Aid on me. Yeah, eighth grade was fun. So, imagine my surprise when I saw the rapper behind "Crank That" in the trending column on Twitter. Apparently, Soulja Boy is claiming he taught Drake everything he knows.
Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, recently appeared on an episode of Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club. What started as an innocent-enough discussion about his 2018 comeback compared to Meek Mills ended with Soulja Boy storming around the studio and calling out Drake for copying his "whole f*cking flow." Wait, WHAT?!
Before you dismiss this whole thing, let's take a closer look. As proof for his bold AF claim, Soulja Boy sang a few bars from Drake's "Miss Me." The 2010 song starts out: "I said "Tell me what's really goin' on; Drizzy back up in this thing, I'm ready, what's hannenin'?" Two years earlier, Soulja Boy came out with "What's Hannenin'" which has a verse that goes: "Man, tell me, what's really goin' on? Soulja Boy up in this thing, I'm ready. What's hannenin'?" Hmmm....
So, did Soulja Boy teach Drake everything he knows? The internet is pretty divided. Lots of people are tweeting in support of Soulja Boy while others are calling his statements a publicity stunt. We're not sure what to think.
The only thing we are sure of is that the Soulja Boy interview is worth watching. His thoughts on Drake are just the tip of the iceberg. The rapper also calls out Tyga and Kayne. Soulja Boy, you tell 'em!
