This Secluded Campsite In Arizona Overlooks Cliffs & The Colorado River

It's a one-of-a-kind adventure. 🌌
Grand Canyon Campsite Is Near A Cliff & Has Views Of The Colorado River

If you're looking for a unique outdoor adventure that involves some of the best views, you're in luck. There's a Grand Canyon campsite that allows you to sleep near a cliff overlooking the Colorado River. It's definitely one of Arizona's best-kept secrets.

Tuweep Campground is a remote area with a scenic overlook 3,000 feet above the river.

This secluded site offers unparalleled views of the canyon and is an optimal place to stargaze.

You and your friends can purchase a backcountry permit for $10 plus an $8 fee per group per night to camp there. A $35 per vehicle fee is also required to enter the park.

If you're going with multiple friends, you can split the cost and save some money.

With nine small campsites in total, you can bring along up to six people in a group or opt for the larger site. It can fit seven to 11 people.

Since the campground is completely remote, there's no water, gas, food or cell service, so plan accordingly.

Getting to this spot might be a bit challenging. A high clearance vehicle is required to make it here since the roads are rough.

Traveling on the road is an adventure in and of itself!

We love that this special place requires you to go back to the basics. Fires and charcoal grills are prohibited so if you want to cook, you'll need to bring a fossil fuel stove.

Bring your pet along for added fun. Who knows? They might love the adventure too.

Before you leave, you should snap a picture on Toroweap Overlook. Did you know it's one of the park's most secluded viewpoints? The sights are so beautiful, you might feel like you're dreaming.

The weather in the summer and winter brings along extreme conditions. We recommend checking out the campsite's page for more detailed information on how to prepare for a trip.

If you're looking to escape the city and relax surrounded by nature, this is the spot. Why not bring your boo along for a romantic getaway?
