Best Christmas Lights In Michigain Include Illuminated Frederick Meijer Gardens

Some of the best Christmas lights in Michigan are opening to the public today. They're located at the gorgeous Frederik Meijer Gardens, right outside of Grand Rapids Michigan. This is a beautiful spot to visit and get in touch with nature any time of year, but tomorrow they're upping their game with a sea of twinkling lights for the holiday season.

This exhibit is going to have live reindeer on Saturdays, Santa visitations, & over 300,000 lights; one thing that really makes this special are the 46 decorated trees representing different cultures from around the world.

These trees have a variety of significant symbols that have international importance. It's beautiful to see such a variety of holidays and reasons to celebrate.

Last year, one of the most beautiful trees hung a parol, which is a star-shaped lantern and is the main Christmas symbol in the Philippines.

These lights are such a great way to enjoy the Christmas spirit, but also expand your horizons to learn about different traditions.

Regular adult tickets are $14.50, but anyone with a valid student ID can get a ticket for $11!

Between December 17 and December 27, the gardens will have extended holiday hours so you can enjoy the lights through the evening too.

Even though the holiday hours don't start for a few weeks, the exhibit opens today, November 26 and ends on January 5, 2020

Along with the Christmas lights, there is another special exhibit at the gardens until March 1st, 2020 that is just perfect for Instagram. It's called "The Womb" by Rebecca Louise Law and it's absolutely stunning.

The artist used both dried & fresh plant material to make a cocoon out of flowers and stems that were perfectly catered towards this display space at Frederik Meijer Gardens.

It's getting a little cold outside, but the outdoor gardens at Frederik Meijer are still worth the chill. There's so much to do in this park that covers 158 acres, which is nearly 7 million square feet! The perfect excuse to grab your boo for a holiday stroll that will make you feel like you're in a Hallmark movie.
