If you love wine, adventure, and some of the best sights in the world, then this event is for you. A boozy train is making its way through B.C. soon, hitting up some of the greatest wine destinations that Canada has to offer. Tickets are now on sale for the Grand Sommelier Express and if you buy soon, you can even save on the cost. Need we say more?
The Okanagan is incredible. From wicked views to amazing food and wine culture, this valley has something for everyone. And when we say that this region has amazing wine, we mean it. Within the Okanagan, there are over 40 vineyards around Kelowna alone. All are bursting with some of the best vino you could ever imagine and all you need to do to taste it is to hop on a train.
The Okanagan is known for having monstrous mountains, rolling valleys, and a landscape that seamlessly goes from big cities to quiet orchards. This Grand Sommelier Express 2020 will allow you to travel aboard the Okanagan's only heritage train while you sample wine and food.
According to the website for the event, winemakers and local vintners pour glasses of local wines for you as you sit back and take in the views. As they pour the magic into your glass, they will be romancing how the beverage was made.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to speak with a winemaker before, you will love it. Their experience and technique will blow you away and you’ll soon realize that there is so much more to winemaking then just squishing grapes.
Once you have had some wine, you will get to step off the train at Kettle Valley Rail Station and enjoy a gourmet reception that will have even more wine, cider, beer, and spirits. Not to mention you will be serenaded by live music.
Tickets for the June 20, 2020 event are on sale right now. You can pick between an afternoon event that runs for 1 p.m to 4:30 .m. or an evening event which runs from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Either way, June in the Okanagan is always hot no matter the time of day, so you will likely enjoy beautiful weather regardless.
If you purchase your tickets from now until December 31, at midnight you will get the early bird price of $125. After that, it will go up to $150, which is still a good price when you consider all that's included.
