Obviously everyone wants to hang with the stars at Coachella, but have you ever considered looking into something a little more local? The Maritimes has a ton of different music festivals happening all the east coast, and we've narrowed down a list of ones you should be checking out this summer. 

From enjoying classic fiddle music in a small town to partying at a silent disco, these festivals have so much for you to enjoy this summer. Not to mention they're so close!

Scotia Festival of Music // Halifax, NS

May 28th to June 11th

This festival features classical chamber music and has musicians performing from around the world. They also provide the opportunity for young musicians to work with professionals!

Stan Rogers Folk Festival // Canso, NS

June 30th to July 2nd

Named after the folk musician, this festival is based out of Guysborough County and showcases singers and songwriters from all over Canada.

TD Halifax Jazz Festival // Halifax, NS

July 12th to July 16th

The oldest Jazz Fest in Atlantic Canada, this musical event is one of the best around! In the past, this festival has been titled Best Festival by The Coast. Definitely an event you should not be missing.

Acoustic Maritime Music Festival // Kempt Shore, NS

July 13th to July 16th

This festival features some of the best singer/songwriters and musicians from around the Maritimes! They also offer workshops, open mics and both a fiddle and guitar summit!

New Glasgow Riverfront Jubilee // New Glasgow, NS

August 4th to August 6th

One of the bigger small town festivals, the Jubilee is fun for anyone attending. The festival is focused on both classic east coast music and rock music - it's a great way to get out and have some fun this summer.

Being one of the biggest festivals in the Maritimes, Cavendish Beach Music Festival features larger artists. This year's headlining artists include Little Big Town, Kip Moore and Zac Brown Band!

Festival of Small Halls // Prince Edward Island

June 11th to June 24th

A unique festival, the Festival of Small Halls takes place all across rural Prince Edward Island and features some talented local musicians in addition to storytellers and dancing performances.

Cloggeroo: The Island Folk Festival // Georgetown, PE

August 11th to August 13th

One of the younger folk festivals, Cloggeroo's focus is on featuring music from all around the country, as well as from around the world. Sample all the food vendors, grab a beer, listen to some folk music and enjoy!

Folly Fest // Gagetown, NB

June 23rd to June 25th

Based out of Gagetown, this festival provides a massive line up for its attendees. It also prides itself on being the "Greenest" festival on the east coast, powering its stages with renewable energy and setting up composting on site.

EVOLVE // Moncton, NB

July 13th to July 16th

With 35 unreal artists lined up for the 2017 season, EVOLVE always puts on a good show for their rowdy audience. There are still more acts being added to the line-up as well, so stay tuned!
