Just because the city is covered in snow doesn’t mean you and your significant other can’t get out and explore this weekend!

There are tons of exciting activities going on all over Nova Scotia that become a lot more fun after a major snowfall, so forget the Netflix binging and embark on a winter adventure with your date.

1. Embark on a guided snow shoe adventure

If you just want to embrace the snow to its fullest, rent out two pairs of snowshoes and hit one of the many trails that the HRM has to offer. And if trails aren’t your thing, the Oval rents out snowshoes for use in the Halifax Common, so you can still try it out without the fear of getting lost in the wintery woods.

2. Rent a yurt in Kejimkujik National Park

One of Nova Scotia’s more famous provincial parks, Kejimkujik spans over 400 km sq. of beautiful foliage, trails, and tranquil lake. Its name comes from the Mi’kmaq word that refers to the exertion required. Located in Northumberland Shore Parks Region.

3. Go dog sledding at Snowpak Kennels

Located out of Riversdale, Stratton Outdoors is offering dog sledding adventures all winter long, where guests can team up with eight Alaskan sled dogs for a wintery trek through the woods.

4. Enjoy the Maple Brunch at the Sugar Moon Farms

Drive out and experience the famous Sugar Moon Farm in Colchester County – a 200-acre property with that does guided tours and serves up lots of homemade maple inspired dishes all year round. Visit during sugar season in February and warm up with their famous maple brunch!

5. Ride the Beer Bus through downtown Halifax

Halifax Food Tours has organised a beer bus tour of Halifax that will be running all through the winter until the month of April! Stay warm while you are driven between up to five different craft beer breweries all throughout the HRM.

6. Rent a chalet and spend the weekend skiing in Wentworth

Only an hour and a half from Halifax, Wentworth offers some of the best downhill skiing in Nova Scotia, with accessible night skiing and cross country skiing trails available during season.
