You Can Ride The Halifax Transit For Free On New Year's Eve

No need to wait in the freezing cold for a cab this year – Halifax Transit is offering their services free of charge this year on the night of December 31st starting at 6pm, and will be working into the early hours of the morning on January 1st to get everyone home safe and sound.  Busses anf ferries will be running all over the HRM so that New Years Eve party goers can leave their cars at home and avoid drinking and driving.

This free and extended service is offered to support MADD Halifax in their mission to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime.  Show your appreciation for this awesome service by making a small donation to MADD here, and don’t forget to thank your bus driver for working on such a busy night!  Happy New Year Halifax.

Great White Sharks Are Loving Nova Scotia Right Now & Some Of Them Are Massive

An 11 foot, 1,264 pound shark named Maple was tagged off Nova Scotia's coast on September 14.

There must be something in the water on the east coast because a lot of great white sharks are in Nova Scotia right now and some of them are so huge!

Ocearch, a non-profit shark research organization, is on an expedition in the waters off Nova Scotia until September 30 to learn more about the sharks that spend their summers and falls in Canadian waters.

If you're looking to make a few extra dollars, a Nova Scotia-based brewery is offering locals the chance to become "micro-influencers" who are paid to drink craft beer and post about it.

Good Robot Brewing Company wants people to drink their brews, post about it on Instagram and tag them in it until November 14, 2021. The pay is $1 per post so while you probably shouldn't quit your day job, you could rake in some cash from now until the end date for this unique job.
