Fast food is sort of a touchy topic. We all know it's not great for us, yet we still crave it every once and a while. Sometimes, fast food is the only option we have, and it's really not going to kill us to eat it every once and a while. 

There are a ton of fast food restaurants out there that are super tempting, but let's be real, McDonald's is definitely the most popular. Maybe you're not in a pinch, and are just craving some well, greasy food. There are always healthier options, you just have to look for them! Of course, an option that has 3 burger patties and a ton of mayonnaise on it won't be the healthy option. But most fast food restaurants have a grilled chicken option that is your best bet. Grilled Chicken Snack Wrap 

The Grilled Chicken Snack Wrap can be made with either ranch or chipotle. Chipotle is the healthier option, and if you're really watching your calories, you could ask for it without cheese. It comes with grilled chicken wrapped in a tortilla, chipotle BBQ sauce, lettuce, and shredded cheese. This option is delicious and a light meal if that's what you're looking for!

Artisan Grilled Chicken Sandwich

This delicious grilled chicken sandwich is probably your healthiest sandwich option. On the sandwich is also tomato, lettuce, and a vinaigrette dressing. If everyone else around you is eating a burger and you want something similar, try the Artisan Grilled Chicken Sandwich. You won't regret it, and the flavours are amazing. You won't even believe it's the healthiest option!

If you're somebody who likes to eat foods with the least amount of ingredients, or likes to know all the ingredients in your food, the Egg While Delight McMuffin is your best bet. On an english muffin, you get Canadian bacon, egg white and white cheddar. If you're trying to be healthier, you could ask for no cheese at all. Simple and delicious breakfast!

If you have a gluten allergy or just prefer to not eat as many carbs, this salad is perfect for you. It's grilled chicken on a bed of greens, black beans, roasted corn, strips of tortilla chips, and carrots. This is definitely the healthiest option at McDonald's, however, the dressing alone can ruin that. If you're calorie conscious, I would skip the dressing all together or just ask if they have oil/vinegar mix.

Fruit ‘n Yogurt Parfait

McDonald's Fruit 'n Yogurt Parfait is a light option, which can either be eaten for breakfast or dessert. It has low-fat yogurt, granola, strawberries and blueberries. Although low-fat yogurt is actually not as good for you as full-fat yogurt, when you're in a pinch or just craving something sweet on the go, this is a good option!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie 

You either love raisins or you hate them. If you love raisins, then you'll love this cookie. It's definitely a healthier option compared to the muffins, but it's still a treat. This is also great if you have a sweet tooth but don't want to overdo it.

Baked Hot Apple Pie

If you love baked goods, you'll love this Baked Hot Apple Pie. I've only ever heard good things about it, so it must be delicious. It's a great dessert option as well, with only 12 grams of sugar which isn't too bad. With the cinnamon mixed in with the flaky crust, it tastes just like a homemade pie.

Chocolate Chip Cookie 

Who doesn't love chocolate chip cookies? I know I do. This option is probably the most popular besides the ice cream cones, but those machines are always broken anyways. This is definitely a sweet treat and will get rid of all your cravings. There is something about chocolate chip cookies that everyone loves, and McDonald's does them right.

Since McDonald's made itself into McCafé as well, spots like Starbucks and Tim Hortons have been shook. From lattes to smoothies, McDonald's really does have it all now. However, just like with any other coffee shop, the calories can add up. Smoothies that are advertised as healthy aren't exactly, because there is no protein or real fruit inside. But there are other options that are way healthier, and taste just as good!

Skim Milk Latte

This latte is made with espresso and skim milk, which is the healthiest milk option at McDonald's. The milk is steamed and frothed, and you can even add syrup like vanilla or caramel to add to the flavour, but that's extra calories if you do. This option also has 11 grams of protein, which is really good for a cup of coffee!

If you're really trying to cut back on calories, an americano is definitely your best option at McDonald's. Not only is it the healthiest drink option, but it's only mixed with water. There are no creams, milks or sugars added in so you skip the added calories. Plus, if you like your coffee strong, try this one out!

Premium Roast Brewed Iced Coffee

You can either get this with 2% milk or cream, and I'm sure you could also ask for it black to get rid of the calories. There is sugar in the coffee, however, the calories are still good enough that they won't ruin your day. If you love adding flavour to your coffee, you can also add vanilla or caramel as well.

Premium Roast Brewed Coffee

Same, but different. The drink options are Starbucks all have added sugars, milks, or creams and that's definitely not the healthiest. Realistically, a hot or iced coffee will do and you don't need it blended with a bunch of added sugars. McDonald's coffee is actually amazing, and you can then add whatever milks or sugars you want in it!
