You may think of fast food and automatically think 'bad'. While it tastes so good, everyone knows cooking at home and eating foods with simple ingredients, or ones that you can pronounce, is the best way to go. However, unless you're stuck at home 24/7, never take road trips or are never caught in a situation where it's the only option to eat, it's impossible to stick to that. Fast food restaurants are there for a reason, or like they say, when you're in a pickle.
At Wendy's, although they do have a ton of good and greasy options, a lot of their options aren't that bad for you! They have a lot of salads, a lot of sides that can be made into healthy meals, and if you want a salad with a side of fries... DO IT! It's all about balance. Of course, a 3 patty burger with a frosty, fries and a Diet Coke isn't considered balance if it's done all the time. But once a week, once every two weeks, once a month? Treat yourself.
Wendy's does have breakfast in some select cities, but it's not a normal thing to see breakfast at Wendy's. Of course, like I mentioned before, eating breakfast at your own home will save you calories throughout the day, and will definitely make you feel lighter than eating breakfast at a fast food restaurant. While these options are the healthiest, or have the least amount of calories, it's still best to not eat these every single day. But if you're looking to treat yourself or are in a rush but still want to stay on track, enjoy!

Just because something is a burger doesn't mean it has to be unhealthy. You can always opt for the chicken burger option, and if you ask, they'll be able to put it in a lettuce wrap instead. The one thing that makes burgers really unhealthy is the types of dressing. If there is ranch, mayo, or any creamy dressing then that's a ton of extra calories. Forgo the dressing and opt for mustard, and you'll be good to go!
Ultimate Chicken Grill Sandwich
This, besides salads, is definitely the healthiest option at Wendy's. It has 34 grams of protein, and only 9 grams of fat since the chicken is grilled. They do have a honey mustard sauce on the sandwich which is better than other sauces. But if you wanted it even lower calorie, you could change that for mustard!
Jr. Double Deluxe
This small but delicious burger is filling on its own. With a beef patty, and any toppings that you want on it, it's customizable to your needs/want. I would go for mustard as the only sauce, and fill it with as much veggies as you can. You can make it however you want, but if you're looking for a healthy option, then forgo the cheese and mayo.
Grilled Chicken Wrap
This is a light option if you're not too hungry, but you still want something in your stomach. This wrap comes with a tortilla, lettuce, cheese, honey mustard and a grilled chicken breast. This probably wouldn't be filling on its own, so I recommend eating a salad on the side.

Everyone knows that salads are healthy, right? They must be since they have veggies, meat, cheese, etc. However, some salads can be ruined by just a couple ingredients, dressing included. Wendy's recently came out with fresh and delicious salads that can keep you on track without all of the junk inside. So if you're a salad lover or stuck in a pinch, here are some great salad options!
Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad (Half-Size)
This is probably Wendy's healthiest option on the menu! With feta, grilled chicken, sun-dried quinoa blend, and hummus, this salad is packed full with protein and will definitely keep you full for a long time. Especially if you're on the road or just need to grab a quick bite to eat, I would go for this option. They have a regular size or a full size, but if you want to keep the calories down then go with the half size.
Apple Pecan Chicken Salad (Half-Size)
With 20 grams of protein packed in this salad, you're bound to love it. This salad has red and green apples, roasted pecans, blue cheese, cranberries, and warm grilled chicken. If you have a sweet tooth, you should pick up this salad. The great thing is is it's flavourful with or without the dressing!
Taco Salad (Half Size)
Who doesn't love tacos? And in a salad form it's even more delicious. However, there are a few things you can do to make this salad way healthier. Ditch the sour cream, cheese and opt for only a few of the tortilla chips in the salad. Without all the modifications there is a lot of fat in it, but that can easily be taken out!

For Sides, click 'NEXT'
Obviously sides aren't considered a meal, that's why they're called sides. However, sometimes putting two and two together is way better than just one meal. If you don't feel like a chicken burger but want something still healthy, you can do totally do that at Wendy's! Also, these are perfect for if you need something to tie you over until you have a meal. Or maybe you're just not that hungry. No matter what, these sides are great!
Have you lived if you haven't had Wendy's chili? It's so delicious and hardy and it's perfect for a quick and filling meal. Curl up with this on a winter day and forget about the amount of sodium that's in it. Realistically, the protein outweighs the sodium but still keep an eye on your sodium for the rest of the day.
Plain Baked Potato
Sounds boring, right? Wrong. Not when you put it on the side of a delicious salad or even the small version of chili! If you feel like you need carbs or if you're vegan, this and a salad is a great option. They have other baked potatoes as well, but those have sour cream and a ton of other stuff on it that will add up.
Garden Side Salad
This is perfect on the side of a warm bowl of chili. This salad has mixed greens, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and red onions and you can totally make it vegan as well by getting rid of the cheese. You can also choose the dressing to make it less caloric if needed.
For Drinks, click 'NEXT'
When you think of drinks at Wendy's, you obviously think of a Frosty. I mean I really hope you do. But besides the obvious sodas and water at Wendy's, they don't have a huge drink menu like McDonald's. However, that's not a bad thing! Drinking your calories isn't the best option if you're trying to lose weight, and it can ruin your meal. So stick to the lighter options like water or these next options!
Honest Tropical Green Tea
Who knew Wendy's had green tea?! If you're looking for something sweet, then this should be your go-to. It's freshly brewed and sweetened with cane sugar, which isn't the healthiest option but beggers can't be choosers. A large is only 110 calories, so it won't ruin your day either.

Strawberry Passion FruiTea Chillers
This drink is so refreshing and will leave you wanting summer all year round. It's green tea that's shaken with real strawberries and passion fruit juice. This is a nice treat as a pick me up, but I wouldn't recommend it with a meal!

Did you really think I wouldn't put a frosty in here?! Although this definitely isn't healthy, as a treat it's perfectly fine. A vanilla frosty is less caloric than a chocolate, so keep that in mind. This is basically just carbs so in order to not ruin your diet, just keep a tab on your carbs for the rest of the day. But also enjoy it, it's delicious!
