There is something about celebrities that are so intriguing. We want to know everything about their lives, even though we don't personally know them. I don't know about you, but I'm obsessed with what celebrities eat in a day. I find it so interesting to see how they get the energy to be non-stop through movie shoots, interviews, performances, etc. And most of the time, they are just like us. Minus the personal chefs sometimes.
Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum have recently announced that they've split up. While we're over here crying and rewatching Step Up, Jenna is out and about at a Soul Cycle class in Los Angeles. While endorphins are totally the way to get over a breakup, we applaud her for taking time for herself. Her workouts and body have always been on point and her eating is even more on point. The professional dancer maintains a plant-based diet, and indulges when she feels like it.
In an interview with People, Jenna claims that she sticks to food that makes her feel her best, and that's plant-based foods. She says she feels ethically right when she's consuming only plant-based foods, and suggests people start with even one meatless day a week.
She tries to get in two litres of water a day, which she definitely needs since her job is demanding on the body. The professional dancer, actress and World of Dance host makes sure she gets in a ton of vegetables, healthy plant-based fibre and protein. Oh, and her guilty pleasure? Breakfast is Kimberly Snyder's Glowing Green smoothie. The smoothie consists of spinach, romaine lettuce, water, celery, apple, pear, banana, lemon juice, cilantro and parsley. If you want to make this a little more substantial, you could add half an avocado or protein powder.
She skips a morning snack and goes right to lunch, which is quinoa tabouli, hummus, cucumber and tomato salad with lemon juice, olive oil, and salt and pepper.
Her afternoon snack is a fruit smoothie with apple, banana, raspberries, blueberries and water. She definitely doesn't have trouble getting her fruits and veggies in!
Her dinner is a quinoa bowl with black beans, chopped tomatoes, roasted squash, zucchini, red peppers, avocado, corn, salsa, tortilla strips, lime, vegan chipotle sauce, salt and pepper.
Her total calories according to dietician Marisa Moore is 1,431. There you have it! This is Jenna Dewan's daily intake, which I'm sure changes all the time. However, you may need more or less calories depending on your body type. If you're looking to become a plant-based eater, this is a great place to start. But you may need more protein in your breakfast to keep you satisfied.
