If you're part of the Stranger Things fandom, you're probably already well aware that Season 3 of the series is underway, and is set to be released on Netflix sometime in 2019. Although in reality 2019 is right around the corner, there's definitely a lot of time between now and then for you to get some other binge-watching out of the way.

The reason so many people love Stranger Things, apart from its uber talented cast, is because of it's eerie and enticing science fiction storyline. Something about it captivates audiences, and has them hooked from the intro to the ending credits.

If you're one of the many impatiently waiting for the new season, here are some awesome Netflix series' with similar themes that you can binge in the meantime:

Black Mirror

Although a lot of people are already totally obsessed with Black Mirror, I know that there are definitely people out there who haven't watched it yet. If you are one of those people, I'm here to tell you that you're missing out, and it's time to hop on the bandwagon. Black Mirror is great because it's one of those shows that doesn't need to be watched chronologically. You can skip episodes, or entire seasons if they don't pique your interest. The show has the same sort of sci-fi vibe as Stranger Things, but is a lot more adult and gives us a unique look at a lot of real-world problems we face today.

Sense8 has two seasons out on Netflix now, but you'll have no problem binge-watching both of them in a matter of days. This Netflix Original is different from others that Netflix has put out in the past, touching on important issues such as feminism and homophobia, among others. The show follows a group of humans from all over the world who have been "reborn" in a sense, and are somehow linked to one another. Although the show is very science fiction based, it's never far-fetched, and has that same sort of "edge of your seat" suspense that you find in Stranger Things.

Hemlock Grove

Hemlock Grove is one of those shows that's received a lot of mixed reviews. Some people are absolutely obsessed with it, and love how horrifying it can be at times, while other's have dubbed it scary yes, but also scary bad. Ultimately, what other people think doesn't matter - it's all up to you to form your own opinion! Hemlock Grove follows the story of the murder of a young girl in a small town where everyone's got secrets. Although the show was canceled after just three seasons, what's available to watch on Netflix is definitely worth checking out!

Bloodline may not have the same sci-fi feel as Stranger Things, but one thing it does have is a plot that will keep you biting your nails with every twist and turn. Even after just watching the trailer, I'm totally hooked and ready to start bingeing. The series follows an American family who runs an inn - seemingly normal stuff, right? Wrong. The family has committed a series of heinous crimes over the years in order to keep themselves afloat, all which have been carefully tucked away and hidden. When the oldest son comes home though, everything becomes much more risky, as he's a wild card who could expose their secrets at any given moment. How will it end? You'll have to watch to find out!

Usually, Slasher genre movies and TV shows have a reputation for being cheesy and poorly done. Slasher, however, is one show that WON'T disappoint. The story follows a woman who moves back to the small town where her parents were brutally murdered almost 30 years ago. Shortly upon returning, she realizes that things really aren't much different, as the killings have begun again. Hidden secrets of everyone in the town begin to surface, causing drama and tension as the hunt for the serial killer drags on.

The 100

If you like Stranger Things for it's youthful and energetic cast, you'll like The 100 for the same reason. This show follows several teenagers in a dystopian society as they're forced out of outer space, and back down to Earth post-nuclear war. The children who were sent are all delinquents, and it's there job to make sure Earth is inhabitable again, as well as to simply survive.

The OA

If you prefer your shows to have a twisted plot, The OA should be at the very top of your list. This Netflix Original follows a young woman who was kidnapped under mysterious circumstances as a child. To make matters worse, she was blind when the incident occurred. Seven years later, she was found and returned to her family, with her eyesight miraculously restored. With every new episode comes a unique and crazy twist that you'll barely be able to keep up with.

Maniac is one of Netflix's newest pursuits, but I can tell you first hand that you'll be hooked in a matter of minutes. Not only does it have an awesome cast, featuring Jonah Hill and Emma Stone, it also has such a unique and intriguing plot. You never really know what's going on until the very end, and even then, so many questions remain unanswered. The series has that eerie sci-fi feel that so many of us love, and is full of mysteries and surprises in every episode.
