The 2019 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeois just around the corner! This year's annual Texan event is gearing up to be the best yet, with its famous giant carnival, outstanding performances, and iconic eats and treats.
This year's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be full of colorful rides, intense action, good music, and tasty food. Get excited for Monday, Feb 25th, for the opening day.
Here is a bucket list of all the top things you need to experience at this year's Houston Rodeo!
1. Go on one of the exciting carnival rides
The largest rodeo in the country obviously needs a carnival to match, so the Houston carnival offers more than 80 unique rides plus game booths and food vendors. Riding the classic favorites like the merry-go-round and the Ferris wheel is a must, but don't be afraid to try out one of the crazy rides like the Sky Flyer!
2. Eat everything that is deep fried
The Houston rodeo serves some of the tastiest and unique festival foods, from funnel cakes to fried Oreos and even fried Twinkies. Anything fried automatically tastes better! Except maybe the fried butter.
3. Enjoy a Texas-sized drink
Everything is bigger in Texas. Including the alcohol!
4. Choose your favorite artist to see live
Houston always gets the best musical acts to keep the party going after the rodeo events end. This year has an incredible list of stars attending, including Zedd, George Strait, Brad Paisley, and Cardi B and Kacey Musgraves, who both just won Grammys this month! Be sure to check out the dates and tickets for when your top favorite is going to be there.
5. Go crazy during the barrel racing event
I think everyone can agree that barrel racing is the coolest sport at the rodeo. The women and the horses in this event are incredible to watch every year!
7. Be sure to watch the entire show
The Houston Rodeo wouldn't be what it is without all the exciting events that fill up the show. You won't want to miss any of it, from the bull riding to the mutton busting!
