State Fair food is great and all, but that BBQ and fried cookie dough on a stick is definitely not vegan-friendly. So this one is for all the vegans who just want to enjoy a fall festival without going hungry. This October 20, the Vegan State Fair is comin' to Houston at Hughes Manor and we couldn't be more excited!
There will be endless delicious Texan food options with all your favorite vendors. Arbonne, How?! Desserts, Imperfect Produce, Falacos, and many more will all be out there. Unfortunately, entry isn't free but it is super cheap! General admission tickets are just $5 to get you into the event. VIP tickets are $10 and get you into the event, plus access to the slow flow morning yoga at 11 a.m. Kids under 12 do get in for free, though!
This vegan fest will be your one-stop shop for all meals vegan, so we won't blame you for wanting to stay all day. The event officially begins at 12 p.m. and concludes at 6 p.m.
There will be a little bit of everything for all the different vegan taste palates — from Asian goodies to meatless tacos (lots of tacos) — to desserts.
Speaking of desserts, we're pretty pumped about those. You'll get a taste of vegan donuts and gelato, delicious cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and mouthwatering cookies.
This year's state fair is pumpkin patch–themed, with promises of a pumpkin patch (obviously), live music, beer, carnival-style games and activities, and vegan food trucks. Add a few meatless meatballs to your fall celebrations and be reminded once again of how truly superior the Houston food scene is.
