Though theaters are now allowed to reopen for public use, the issue of safety is still concerning to a lot of people. Heading out to the movies is something many people miss but are too afraid to do at the moment. There's no need to fear because Houston's favorite rooftop theater is opening a brand new location and it's in the form of a retro drive-in!
The Rooftop Cinema Club is a popular theater that lies on a rooftop on Post Oak Boulevard. The theater plays iconic films from our childhood along with modern-day favorites.
Now, they are opening a new form of movie experience they have named the Drive-In at Sawyer Yards. The drive-in will be opening for its first showing on May 12 at Sawyer Yards, which lies behind Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.
The drive-in is focusing its efforts on being a safe mode for movie watching, with contact-less procedures. There will be two film screenings every day of the week, and the first movie will play this upcoming Tuesday, May 12.
You can nab your ticket in advance on their website right now. You better hurry though since tickets are selling out fast!
Tickets start at $28 per car, no matter how many people are inside of it. You can opt to bring your own favorite movie snacks or you can order the classic treats from Rooftop Cinema.
Feeling really hungry? Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co. will also be serving up food for moviegoers at the drive-in.
Head on down for a fantastically fun showing of all your favorites! Romeo and Juliet, Night at the Museum, The Rocky Picture Horror Show, The Princess Bride, Moulin Rouge, and The Sandlot are only some of the incredible movies the drive-in will be showing this upcoming week.
It's time to cook up some of your favorite snacks and grab your quarantine partner for an extra fun movie date under the Houston skies.
