Houston's Giant Gumbo Festival Is Happening This Month

Gumbo is by far one of the most delicious meals out there. And while it may be more well-known somewhere like Louisiana rather than Texas, there's still no arguing us Texans know how to whip it up. To prove just that, Houston is having a gumbo festival this weekend with some of the greatest gumbo creations in the world.

Starting this Friday, October 25 through Sunday, October 27 you can come out to the great city of Houston for three days of gumbo, boudin, sausage, and BBQ. The best part? That's just the food! The 2019 St. Mary's Gumbo Festival is held every year and it is something Houstonians constantly look forward to, but this year they're in for an even bigger treat than ever before.

Tickets for the festival start at just $5 per day and can go up to $45 for the full experience. Not only is this a food-filled fest, but there will also be incredible performances throughout the three days. J Paul Jr and The Zydeco Nubreeds, Chris Ardoin, and Nu Step Zydeco and many more will be showing off their stuff and providing us with incredible entertainment while we're, of course, stuffing our faces with gumbo.

The fest will be here in just a few days, so we highly recommend getting your tickets ASAP! There's plenty of time to enjoy St. Mary's annual festival this weekend, and if you can't make it, there's always next year. Plus, plenty of fun festivals this fall to get your mind (and belly) off missing one of many.
