If partying like an astronaut isn't on your bucket list, then it definitely needs to be. Luckily, there's an easy way to check it off your list just as soon as you've added it on, because there is a space themed party happening this July in Houston, Texas. Mixers and Elixirs: From Houston to the Moon is the event of the summer and it's going to be truly epic! It's an event that'll be heard about all the way to the moon and back!
Just recently, artist Luke Jerram created a moon sculpture that has proved to be a favorite for everyone who visits the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which is where the event will be held. Nestled in the museum's Glassell Hall, the gigantic moon sculpture will be front and center above all the celebrations of the night. The 50th anniverary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the moon is approaching, and this party is right on time.
Mixers and Elixers is taking place on Friday, July 19th from 7 pm - 10 pm. Tickets for the event are only $15 for members and $25 for non-members, which means astro or naut, you and your friends are more than welcome! There will be a live performance by The Space Rockers, possibly the best band in history to perform at a party like this one. Get ready to moon walk the night away to some space jams.
While The Space Rockers are performing, you can eat from some of the tastiest food trucks Houston has ever seen. Moon Rooster, Satellite Pizza, and Foreign Policy are just some of the many, and adorably space-themed, delicacies that are going to be present. Dipped Dessert and Luv Me Tenders will also be present, giving you all the food options you could imagine.
Don't be late to the party that is celebrating one of the biggest achievments in U.S. History! Buy your tickets and learn everything you need to before the big night on their Facebook event page. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is located at 5555 Hermann Park Dr, Houston, TX 77030.
