How Intermittent Fasting Helps You Burn Fat Fast

Let's just start out by saying intermittent fasting is not a diet. You are not restricting your calories, and you are not actually fasting. Well, not all day.

Intermittent fasting is a new lifestyle that a ton of people are joining in on. The reason? It helps build muscle while destroying fat, because your metabolism is going crazy trying to digest the food only for a few hours a day, instead of all day with a ton of meals. And then your body can start taking fat from your body for energy while 'fasting', which you really aren't.

Intermittent fasting works like this: You skip breakfast, eat your first meal around 1 or 2 pm and then eat your last meal around 8 pm. However, these meals aren't skimpy little meals. These meals are huge. Your body has been fasting around 16 hours at that point, and this is why intermittent fasting does not change what you eat, but just when you eat.

You are not by any means eating less while intermittent fasting. By 1 pm, or whenever you decide to break the fast, you will need a ton of carbs, fat and protein to help your energy levels stay normal.

I will try to explain how intermittent fasting works in the easiest way possible. Your body is either in the fed or fasted state. When your body is in the fed state, it's absorbing and digesting food. All of the blood rushes to your stomach, which is why a ton of people get exhausted after eating. It's not easy for your body to burn fat when it's in the fed state, because of your insulin levels. When your body is in the fasted state, which is 8 to 12 hours after a meal, your insulin levels are low so your body can now use your fat for energy.

It's rare that our bodies are in the fasted state, considering we usually eat right before bed and then right when we wake up and even though we wish we could, we don't sleep for 12 hours every night.

There have also been many people who have said they have lost fat and gained muscle, not even by changing what they're eating but just when they eat. They eat the exact same amount as before or maybe more, and they feel unreal.

It also helps people with extremely busy schedules, because you don't worry about when you're going to eat. You know you're going to hit your food goal and you can eat a ton when you do have a meal. It not only makes your day simpler, but it's been proven to help you live longer, reduce the risk of cancer, lower your stress levels and it's much easier than dieting.

It also does not matter when you fast. You can fast for 8 hours from 7 am to 3 pm, or 2 pm to 10 pm. Whatever works best for you will work for you! The only thing is you need to get used to eating bigger meals, which some people may think would make them gain weight. However, since you're only eating twice a day your calories would round up to the same amount and you're entering the fat burning zone, so there is no possible way you could gain weight while intermittent fasting.
