As Canada's favourite destinations start opening their doors, tons of fun spots are popping back soon. You can return to these iconic Albertan sites again this summer and get back to filling out that bucket list. Legendary sites like the Banff Gondola and the Columbia Icefield Skywalk are about to open.
After a long wait, many of Canada's national parks are finally reopening after Monday, June 1. With them, Alberta's most popular spots are making a comeback too.
Pursuit just announced they'll be opening a ton of their most beloved attractions in Banff and Jasper starting in June, according to a news release shared with Narcity. You can find all the activities and opening dates on their website.
We're most excited about the iconic Baff Gondola and Columbia Icefield Skywalk, opening on Thursday, June 4 and Friday, June 19, respectively.
You can take in the gorgeous scenery of six different mountain ridges from Banff Gondola and it's one of the best ways to see Alberta. Once you're at your destination, the summit of Sulphur Mountain, you can keep exploring through their beautiful boardwalk trail.
Or take a trip to the Columbia Icefields, including a terrifying glass-floored skywalk suspended 918 feet in the air. How often are you able to take in views from every direction, including straight down?
These experiences will be looking a whole lot different than you might remember them, though. According to their Safety Promise program, all their experiences and facilities are getting a makeover to keep them safe.
For example, only single groups will be allowed to board a Banff Gondola car at a time, all their vehicles will be sanitized between uses, their staff are being rigorously trained in new practices, and more.
Don't worry if you've got nowhere to stay, because the group also announced they'll be opening a ton of their hotels throughout June.
Plus, starting Monday, June 1, they're also opening up transportation and sightseeing trips in Banff again.
All these gorgeous sights and activities are just waiting to be discovered again. With great weather incoming and COVID-19 restrictions coming down, it's a great time to see some of these iconic sites.
