Jagmeet Singh Instagram Live Started With "Turban Technical Difficulties"

Malfunctions can't stop the NDP leader from connecting with the people. This Jagmeet Singh Instagram live installment included some "minor turban technical difficulties." It even gave us a sneak peek at how he ties his turban.

Singh's weekly Instagram live on Saturday started at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT which was right when he had to re-tie his turban.

"What's going on everybody? Minor turban technical difficulties," he said as soon as he went live.

He told people tuning in that he was going to tie it while he talked and give a quick tutorial.

"In case anyone's wondering how I tie this bad boy," Singh said. "This is how I do it."

As he wrapped the bright red scarf, he gave shoutouts to people in the comments, explained who would be on this installment of his live videos and wished people Eid Mubarak.

"Turban malfunction, you know how it is," he said while still going at it. "Sometimes it happens."

It took him just over a minute and a half to get it done.

"Turbans almost kinda give you a bit of a facelift, eh? You can kinda pull it back a bit," Singh noted.

Singh's wife, Gurkiran Kaur, actually helps him pick out his turban colours.

While on the campaign trail back in 2019, he told the CBC that he initially chose the colours based on what he liked and sometimes on his outfit.

"Now the colours are chosen by my wife because she loves me to match her outfits. That's her thing. So she now chooses," Singh said.

While Singh's Insta live showed us how he ties his turban, it didn't give us a peek at his luscious locks.

Though he did show off his flowing hair in his and Kaur's flip the switch challenge TikTok.

Back in October 2019, Singh had the best response to someone who told him that he should cut his turban off so he would look more Canadian.

"I think Canadians look like all sorts of people. That's the beauty of Canada," he said.
