The beard is here! Back in March, Jim Carrey shared that he would be documenting the growth of his facial hair while out of work during social isolation. As he's about to near day 50, the actor shared his first update in over a month and even wrote a sweet shoutout to his mom on Mother's Day.

A quick scroll through the 58-year-old's Twitter account will find a mix of his incredible artwork and some selfie updates of his beard's progress.

Carrey first shared on March 23 that it was day one of him "growing a beard until we all go back to work."

He added that he would post regular photos so fans "can marvel at the miracle of my meaningless transformation."

Over the course of nearly two months, the Newmarket born actor has posted five updates, with his most recent one on May 10.

Writing to his 18.6 million followers, Carrey tweeted, "Day 49. Rate of facial hair growth: Normal. I’d like to thank my mom Kathleen for giving me just enough human DNA to blend in. Happy Human Host Day!"

His photo shows a very scruffy salt-and-pepper beard and an adorable smirk.

Before that, Carrey's most recent beard update came on day 13 when he wrote that he's "Starting to look like the Trivago guy: a bestubbled, transient loner who just wants to help you find cheap online travel packages. Someone should check on the Trivago guy."

Prior to that, was day five with his "wild and untamed face. Please don’t put your hands near the cage."

Two days after his first update, the Ace Ventura star tweeted that it seems stubble takes longer to grow while in isolation from others.

"Already yearning for the life I had before all the stubble began," Carrey said.

Since the actor invited others to share photos of their own beard progress in the replies, he got the attention of Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide star, Devon Werkheiser.

The 29-year-old actor has been replying with snaps of his own scruff that's well in progress.

Keeping up with the Canadian actor, Werkheiser shared his day 49 progress with a full beard and matching grown out hair.

Unfortunately, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams didn't provide an update where she joked that she was "gonna do this with my armpits".

You can keep looking out for Carrey's beard updates on his Twitter page.

In the meantime, get your laughs in and show some Canadian pride by watching one of his many movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

TTC Union Alleges CEO Rick Leary Covered Up A 'Near-Catastrophic' Subway Crash

They issued a statement demanding he resign or be fired.

A union that represents nearly 12,000 transit workers is calling for the dismissal or resignation of TTC CEO Rick Leary. ATU Local 113 alleges Leary attempted to cover up a "near-catastrophic" subway crash near Osgoode Station on June 12, 2020.

"Someone is responsible for that cover-up attempt," President of ATU Local 113, Carlos Santos, said in the release. "That someone could only be the CEO. Who else would have the authority to keep such a major incident under wraps?"
