One of Canada's most iconic superstars recently ditched his light brown hair in favour of something more fun when he sported a cotton candy pink colour. But it didn't last very long and since then he's had platinum blond hair that he pulls off pretty well. The natural brunette likes to switch up his style often and Justin Bieber's platinum blond hair is reminiscent of a superstition he has about his music.

Hollywood Life first reported four years ago that back when Biebs first bleached his hair, it was for a very specific reason.

They wrote, "a source revealed to us exclusively that Justin went platinum as a metaphor for his upcoming album, which he is praying will go platinum as well!"

At the time, his album Purpose was about to release, which is also the last recorded album we got from the Canadian artist.

Hollywood Life's source also told them, "So if he is surrounded by [platinum] then it will happen...the platinum hair is based on the mindset of what he wants his career to get into for his upcoming album. He really wants this album to be a huge hit."

The article was written in September and his album came out in November, so he was a bit ahead of the game for his secret superstition, which might hint at what he's doing now.

We're still waiting on a supposed album Bieber has in the works and there's no set release date so we don't know when it will drop, but it could possibly be really soon

He first posted two Instagram photos on October 27 writing, "If this gets 20 million likes Justin Bieber will release an album before Christmas". Right now the photo has 11.8 million likes so we're more than halfway there.

He then followed that one with "R&BIEBER" which some fans speculated is the name of his new album.

The "Baby" singer keeps teasing his fans with new music and he recently tweeted, "Drop the album already. Happy Thanksgiving".

He was also recently spotted wearing a shirt that says the same thing.

The most recent music we got from Bieber was released in October featuring Dan + Shay on the song 10,000 Hours.
