Kanye Just Opened Up About His Nervous Breakdown In A Rare Interview

After his  controversial Twitter rants and his recent celebrity feuds,Kanye's arguably the most talked-about celebrity of the moment. So, it's no surprise that everybody's dying to know what he has to say in his rare two-hour interview with radio host Charlamagne tha God.

In the interview, Kanye touches on everything from his thoughts on the music industry and his career, to what was going through his mind when Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint. Most notably, Kanye held nothing back about his mental breakdown in 2016, in which he was hospitalized.

Surprisingly, Kanye said that one of the major triggers of his breakdown was his beef with Taylor Swift. Tay and Ye had their first public feud in 2009, but the incident he's referring to is when the "Famous" video came out. After Kim Kardashian exposed Taylor Swift on Snapchat, the album started to tank and didn't get nearly as much radio play as he was hoping for. "Ever since the Taylor Swift moment, it's never been the same," Kanye said, "It was much harder after that."

Kanye also talked about his experience in the hospital. "When I was laying down in a hospital bed looking through the window at a black UCLA employee, I felt like I had let him down. Just sad," he said.

"It was like all these things were, like, almost set up to put me on meds, to break me down," Kanye revealed, "Also just being on stage four times a week, you know, you get exhausted up there."

But despite everything he went through, Kanye says he refused to get therapy. "I use the world as my therapist," he explained, "Anyone I talk to is my therapist." He says he's in a stronger place now than he ever was before.

Kanye also said he was "hurt" about Beyonce and Jay-Z missing his wedding. "I understand he was going through some things, but if it's family, you're not going to miss a wedding."

As far as his Twitter rants go, Kanye said he wants to use it as a platform to share what he's learned since his breakdown. He says, "I want to change the stigma of 'crazy' and the stigma of mental health, period."
