Christmas is a magical time all around the world, but we're proud to announce that Canada has taken the top spot and been officially named the #1 most Christmassy country in the whole world.
Taxi2Airport ranked the world's most Christmassy countries and Canada came out on top in their Global Festive Ranking. The rankings "thoroughly analyzed an array of festive data for every country around the world, including Christmas travel recognition, the chance of snow, and the popularity of Christmas music", read the report.
According to the rankings, there were several reasons why Canada took the top spot. There is an impressive amount of people who listen to Christmas music relative to other countries, which also makes sense given that staple Canadian singers Justin Bieber and Michael Buble have both released Christmas albums.
Snow always make Christmas more magical, and out of all the countries in the world, Canada ranked 6th for the highest chance of a white Christmas. There's also an amazing variety of winter sports in Canada. For instance, the report recommended Whistler Blackcomb for skiing, ice skating around Lake Louise, and riding in a horse-drawn sleigh in Sun Peaks.
Besides reasons listed from the report, we can think of many more why Canada deserves the title of the most Christmassy country – one of the world's tallest Christmas trees are in Canada, standing at 110 feet.
There are also tons of unique and extravagant holiday and winter events, such as massive North-Pole themed winter festivals, ice skating through a 1.3 km trail that is fully and beautifully lined with tiki torches and pop-up Christmas cocktail bars across the country.
Canada is beautiful all year round, but there's something extra special about the holiday season. We already love celebrating Christmas in the country, so we couldn't be more excited that it's now officially the best place to spend the holidays in the world.
