This Untouched Georgia Island Is Full Of Hidden Marshes, Dunes And Forests

Perfect for a camp night on the beach.
Little Tybee Island Is A Hidden Paradise On Georgia's Coast

The coast of Georgia is the best place to get away for a weekend to just relax. Between Jekyll Island, Tybee Island and St. Simons Island, you really cannot go wrong with any of these beaches. What many people don't know is that there is another island on Georgia's coast, just south of Tybee. Little Tybee Island is a small slice of heaven and is a piece of paradise.

Little Tybee Island is actually twice as big as Tybee Island. It can only be accessed by boat or kayak, which makes it a hidden gem and unique destination.

There are marshes and dunes and even forests which make for great camping spots. This island is a completely uninhabited nature preserve, so you will be on undeveloped land and you will be one with nature.

Since you can only get to this island by boat or kayak, it makes it that much better because you know it won't be crowded with tourists. You can rent a boat, kayak or jetski for half of the day, or the entire day if you do not have means to get to the island.

Besides the obvious swimming and lounging on the sand on the beach, many love to go fossil hunting and some have even found fossils of the Megalodon shark. You can also fish and bird watch as the sun goes down which makes for a beautiful scene.

Staying on the island is a must-do, even if you are not a fan of camping. You can camp right on the beach and fall asleep to the waves crashing instead of listening to an app that has an ocean setting.

You can choose to stay on the island for a few nights, or you can just visit it for the day. If you decided to not stay on the island, you can head back to the Tybee/Savannah area and stay on this yacht for super cheap
