Yesterday, news broke that Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, along with her husband Mossimo Giannulli, were a part of a huge ivy league bribing scandal. Olivia and Bella, who are Lori and Mossimo's daughters, got the heat of the scandal. Well, it turns out Lori Loughlin's daughters knew their parents bribed their ivy league school into accepting them.
If you're not familiar with this story, let me break it down for you. Over 50 celebrities and CEOs were charged yesterday for bribing ivy league schools into accepting their children. They have been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, and the amount that they paid to get their kids into school is crazy. Felicity Huffman paid $15,000 to get her daughter to be able to cheat on the college entrance exam and Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli paid a total of $500,000 to get their daughters accepted into USC.
The bribes that Lori and Mossimo did were insane, even staging their daughters on the rowing machine to 'prove' that they were a part of the crew team, which automatically got them accepted into college. However, it seems like their daughters Olivia and Bella knew of this bribery.
Olivia Jade, who has a YouTube channel, and her sister Bella had to turn off comments as well as put their Instagrams on private because of all of the bashful comments they're getting. While some may say they're innocent, others beg to differ. According to court documents, a guidance counselor at Olivia's high school became concerned when it was revealed that she got into college because of rowing, which neither of the girls did.
The guidance counselor said she was concerned that "their applications may have contained misleading information". From that, Lori Loughlin emailed someone who participated in this scam and "Olivia has not submitted all her colleges apps and is confused on how to do so. I want to make sure she gets those in as I don't want to call any attention to her with our little friend. Can you tell us how to proceed?" "Our little friend" means the guidance counselor at the high school. Even better, Olivia was CC'ed on that email.
One of the signs that Olivia and Bella knew about this alleged scam is that they posed on a rowing machine so their dad could send it to the scammer. Most of their $500,000 went to making sure their daughters were recruited for the crew team, which pretty much guarantees acceptance into USC.
It's uncertain what will happen to the students involved in this scam since it's technically through their parents. However, I'm sure that these elite schools will not tolerate students being there for the wrong reasons. A while back, Olivia Jade said on her YouTube channel that she 'didn't care about school' and wanted to go for the parties and game days. She quickly defended herself and apologized, saying what she said was 'ignorant' and 'stupid'. However, those comments are definitely coming back to haunt Olivia on her Instagram now.
