Someone who bought a lottery ticket in Quebec woke up a millionaire this morning. The $70 million Lotto Max jackpot was won by a player in la belle province after the February 25 draw. Several other million-dollar prizes were also won.
As of right now, the jackpot has not been claimed, but the winning selection of numbers was sold to someone. If you live in Quebec and bought a Lotto Max ticket in the last few days, you might want to go and get it checked.
There were even more lucky people in other parts of Canada who won eight $1 million Maxmillions prizes.
There were two winners in Quebec, two in the Prairies, one in the Atlantic provinces, and five in Ontario.
Two of those million-dollar draws will be split between two winners who had the same numbers, adding up to 10 prize recipients overall.
A ticket-buyer in the Prairies also woke up a millionaire this morning, with a ticket hitting six out of seven numbers plus the bonus and paying out at $1,071,985.60.
Just over 100 people hit six numbers without the bonus and won $4,389.10. While not making them millionaires, it's still a nice little chunk of change.
In total, 1,514,658 players won prizes ranging from free tickets all the way up to the top payout.
