Police Searching For Canadian Man Who Set Indian Restaurant On Fire After Buying Gas At Nearby Station
Police are now searching for a Manitoba man that lit an Indian restaurant on fire after purchasing gas just moments before. Officials have since released pictures of the man, in hopes of finding him.
According to Manitoba RCMP, a man bought gas at a nearby gas station July 18, 2019, at around 3:35 AM. The gas was purchased on Selkirk Avenue in Thompson.
After he purchased the gas, he allegedly used it to set a restaurant on fire. His plan was successful and he was able to cause significant damage to the business. The man suffered burns on his hands as a result.
Emergency crews are able to arrive just after 3:30 AM to the fire. The business was allegedly Butter Chicken Express. According to CBC News, the Indian restaurant was “engulfed in flames” by the time first responders arrived.
Manitoba RCMP have since released images of the suspect in hopes of finding him. In the photos, you can see the man wearing a large, black hoodie with his face covered.
The pictures also show the man walking into the store to the register to pay for his gas. It is unclear how much gasoline he bought for his plan.
The third picture shows the man filling up a container with gas. RCMP have not released information on how much gas he purchased, but by the looks of the photos, he only filled up one container.
