McDonald's Canada Is Bringing Back The Shamrock Shake For 2020

But only until March 23!
McDonald's Canada Is Bringing Back The Shamrock Shake For 2020

Fans of creamy, green, sweet, and minty drinks rejoice. McDonald's Canada's shamrock shake is making its return for 2020. Right now, you can order one on the McDonald's app and get into the St. Patrick's Day spirit early.

"A classic flavour is back for a limited time only!" the website's description reads, "The delicious and refreshing taste of mint is back in our iconic Shamrock Shake."

The famous seasonal drink will be available until March 23. That means you have time to go out and get one, but don't hesitate too long. Once it's gone, it'll likely be another entire year before it comes back again.

This year actually marks the festive drink's fiftieth anniversary. First created in 1967 by Hal Rosen, a Connecticut McDonald's owner, the special menu item went on to be featured at select locations across the United States in 1970.

Since then, the iconic shake has achieved the same kind of holiday drink status assigned to items like the pumpkin spice latte or peppermint mocha. Its elusiveness makes it all the more tempting.

There are even people out there who have tried to replicate the drink in order to have it any time of the year, but nothing compares to the original.

Along with the Shamrock shake, another major seasonal favourite is making a return to Canadian McDonald's locations.

As an early Easter present, the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry has also made a return.

"Smooth vanilla soft serve blended with pieces of milk chocolate then swirled together with the delicious sweet center of a Cadbury Creme Egg all whipped together for a decadent cool and creamy dessert," the McFlurry's description reads.

It's hard to resist something that sounds that good.

Both of these items are available now while supplies last. How often is it that you get to be in the spirit of two holidays at once?
