This Victorian Pink Paradise Hotel In Key West Is The Perfect BFF Barbie Vibe Getaway

Many of us have fond memories of playing with Barbie dolls when we were younger, and even if you weren’t a fan of Queen B, you probably caught yourself thinking of how sweet that Barbie Dream House was. Now, you can stay in an actual pink mansion that would rival Barbie’s at the Southernmost House Hotel in Key West.
The Southernmost House is a bit of a Key West icon, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean — because of course, Barbie would have an oceanfront mansion.
The wrap-around porch and soaring turrets provide a beautiful example of Queen Anne-style architecture, with a retro, pastel beach house exterior.
As the name suggests, it is the southernmost public residence in the United States, and now functions as an adults-only bed and breakfast. The luxurious pool is even open to both hotel residents and the public alike.
The Southernmost House has seen a long and rich history in the Keys, and many a character has stayed under its roof, including five presidents.
You can stay there yourself and enjoy the island-style continental breakfast, heated pool, tiki bar, and ocean views, complete with all your modern amenities.
While it may date back to the late 1800s, the home is now complete with Wi-Fi, laundry services, and even a gift shop if you fancy yourself a trinket to commemorate your girl's trip.
The house was built in 1896, owned by the daughter of the state’s first millionaire, William Curry, and her husband.
Thomas Edison himself was commissioned to install electric lighting in the home.
During the Prohibition Era, it was a speakeasy, with the first floor as a restaurant, the second as a casino, and the top floor for socializing.
It saw many a notorious celebrity or gangster stop by on their way down to Havana. In 1939, the house even had a brief stint as a Cuban-style nightclub called Café Cayo Hueso.
In the 1950s, the house was yet again a private residence, until it was converted into its present form as an 18-room hotel in the '90s.
Within walking distance of many of Key West’s other historic attractions, it’s a great place to kick off your tropical vacation with your BFFs — but feel free to bring your boo too if they love a little pink in their life.
