The city of Miami is forever indebted to LeBron James; the Cleveland native played in the American Airlines Arena for four unforgettable years. This week, the people of Miami are finding yet another reason to feel gratitude for James. The Los Angeles Laker opened a second venue for his store UNKNWN in Wynwood.
The new UNKNWN space looks to be specifically tailored for Miami with its bright colors, unique interior design and great balance between style and athletics (note: outdoor basketball court). The venue officially opened its doors on Thursday just in time for Art Basel 2019.
When the first UNKNWN store opened in 2011, it quickly gained fame and attention for its coveted sneakers and eventually, its even more desired and rare collaborations with some of the biggest names in both the streetwear and fashion industries.
A co-sign from LeBron James will open many doors.
In fact, UNKNWN released a list of the brands the store is set to collaborate and work with.
Among the brands is LeBron James' own shoe furnisher, Nike, of course. But there is also a list of brands that would make any hypebeast's Christmas list. Including, BAPE, Just Don, Vans, Jordan and many more.
LeBron James often wears outfits made through collaboration with the store and another fashion brand.
This particular outfit is a collaboration with one of James' favorite brands, Thom Browne.
James often wears the New York tailoring brand ahead of big games and over the years, it has become a staple in his closet.
Here he is rocking a Thom Browne suit last year for a photoshoot with Hollywood Reporter.
James is plenty excited about the venue. He took to Instagram earlier in the week to share an overhead view of the new store.
The UNKNWN Wynwood venue is located at 261 NW 26th St, Miami, FL. Head over for all the rarest and most fly sneakers and streetwear the city has to offer.
