Last week, athletic organizations followed the NBA's lead and suspended their respective seasons in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. With the lack of scheduled games changing up the sports entertainment landscape for the time being, some players are doing their best to make the most of this break — like Miami Heat's Goran Dragic.
While LeBron James and Dwyane Wade spent some time strolling down memory lane last week in wake of the suspension, some may be wondering what other players are doing to fill the time not spent on the courts and fields right now.
Will they practice their craft or enjoy the break with a little fun? Miami Heat point and shooting guard Goran "The Dragon" Dragic seems to have found a way to curb cabin fever by playing some soccer in his yard.
The 33-year-old took to Instagram to share a video of himself kicking around a soccer ball on his Miami waterfront property, backdropped by a slightly cloudy blue Florida sky, a bridge, and the cityscape in the distance.
It turns out The Dragon has some secret soccer skills too.
Dragic's video features him juggling the ball across the grass before he uses his feet to launch it up behind himself and over his shoulder, kicking it into a small goal placed in front of a line of palm trees at the property's edge.
Dragic joins the likes of David Beckham and his wife Victoria speaking out during the suspension period about letting the normal grind take a back seat with a caption that reads, "Soccer time. #stayhome."
Some may initially be surprised to see The Heat player balling with his feet, but there have been some signs scattered across the internet that Goran enjoys his soccer.
Dragic was recently seen at a press conference wearing the new white Inter Miami jersey. The soccer club saw the photo posted from local reporter Will Manso, tagging The Heat player in their response, "Nice jersey you've got there!"
Thank you and good luck this season 👍🏻💪🏼 https://t.co/UKzVrSsKxb— Goran Dragić (@Goran Dragić)1583873717.0
The basketball star promptly replied with, "Thank you and good luck this season."
While many of us may be stuck at home, playing some soccer in the yard like Dragic might just be a great way to help keep the boredom blues away.
