If you’re looking for new employment at the moment you might want to listen up. LinkedIn just released a list of the 25 hottest Canadian companies to work for right now. Of that list, only one western Canada location was mentioned. Amongst all 25 spots, this Calgary company stands alone as the only place mentioned in all of B.C. and Alberta, and guess what, they're hiring.
It seems like everyone is switching employment these days. But you can’t blame them, there are literally so many opportunities right now.
LinkedIn has recognized some trends in job searches and employment rates and has determined what the top 25 hottest Canadian companies to work for right now.
Every company on this list is recognized as a startup in Canada. According to the LinkedIn press release, the mentioned companies are commanding attention, growing massively, and altering how we work and live.
In order to curate the list, the editors and data scientists at LinkedIn analyzed literally billions of actions generated by nearly 645 million LinkedIn members. Four pillars were looked at including employee growth, jobseeker interest, engagement with employees, and how well the startups pulled talent from LinkedIn’s top companies list.
In order to apply, all eligible companies needed to be seven-years-old or younger and have at least 50 employees. Once all this was said and done, only one Alberta startup made the list.
According to the LinkedIn data, Certarus was the only mentioned western Canada location. Coming at number 16, this Calgary-based operation is “a fully integrated compressed natural gas (CNG) solution for the North American commercial and industrial markets.”
Founded in 2012, this business has just over 100 employees but is looking to expand that number. According to LinkedIn, they have over 40 job opportunities open in Alberta, Ontario, and the U.S.
A majority of the other companies on the list are from Toronto. This huge city must be a hub for startups as 20 of the 25 businesses mentioned are stationed in Toronto. These companies are from a variety of industries from software and sales and even fashion.
Two of the remaining four companies on the list are from Montreal with the others stationed in Mississauga and Hamilton.
