If you’re looking for a new job or a career change, Justin Trudeau has got you covered. In a notice on Wednesday, the Prime Minister encouraged Canadians to check out his recommendations of available jobs in Canada. According to Trudeau, there are more than 44,000 available, and there are opportunities in so many different sectors!

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been difficult for some Canadians to find reliable, consistent work opportunities.

However, as the economy begins to restart and the country begins to open up again, the Prime Minister is encouraging Canadians to think about rejoining the workforce or even consider changing careers.

In a tweet shared on May 26, Trudeau explained, “If you’re looking for work right now, there are thousands of jobs available in our agri-food sector and more than 44,000 openings in essential services.”

Sharing a link to the government’s job-hunting website, he added, “To see how you can contribute to Canada’s response to COVID-19, check out the Job Bank …”

Opportunities range from retail and sales to truck driving, as well as jobs in law enforcement, communications and accounting.

With more than 72,000 listings across agriculture, essential services, work-from-home opportunities and “in demand” sectors, there’s bound to be something that suits your skills here.

As per Trudeau's tweet, there are more than 44,000 opportunities available in the essential services sector alone.

The Job Bank website states, “The labour market is not closed – it's adjusting to the realities of COVID-19. Employers are still looking for workers, with many in key sectors that are continuing to provide services to Canadians.”

If working from home is the new normal for you, there’s also plenty of opportunities in that field.

The Job Bank has over 8,650 opportunities related to administration, accounting, communications, finance and IT.

Rates of pay and necessary experience vary depending on the specific job role. That said, with over 72,000 current listings, the opportunities are almost endless.

Happy job hunting, Canada!
