This Company Will Reward You For Playing Video Games In Toronto
Talk about a dream opportunity!
Playing video games is a hugely popular activity, we all know that. Many a student has been criticized for wasting time on game consoles, and it's even been argued excessive use can lead to a lack of sleep or detachment from the world around us. But now, one leading developer is offering the chance to get paid to play video games.
Renowned game company Ubisoft, which is behind hugely popular games such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and the Tom Clancy series, is looking for people in Toronto to participate in "playtests" for some of the new games it's developing.
Anyone selected for the playtest will play these games over the course of anywhere from a few hours to a few days at the company's office in Toronto.
According to the company's FAQ section, rewards will depend on the length of the individual playtest. These rewards could include gift cards, games and even some extra cash in your pocket. No matter how much it is, playing videos games for money is a pretty sweet deal!
Probably the best thing about this is you don't even have to be an avid gamer! The company's website says they are willing to work with either casual or avid gamers, and even those who haven't picked up a controller since the days of the original NES.
Anyone over the age of 16 can participate in the playtest, while anyone under that age would require parental consent to do so.
Once registered at the company's website, potential players will be periodically contacted for tests to determine their eligibility. These emails will include a survey to provide Ubisoft with additional information about yourself and your gaming habits.
Once players are selected, Ubisoft will follow up with the deets of the playtest, including what to bring and where to go.
Even though you are going to be playing some sweet games that aren't even out yet, you can't blab about it to your friends or on social media. Playtest participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement and agree to be video or audio recorded for research purposes. So there'll be no opportunity to look cool in front of your mates, but then again, you'll still be testing games for rewards.*
Lastly, we all know someone who takes video games a bit too seriously, but you have to be on your best behaviour and treat the employees and fellow gamers with respect.
So, if you're a video game expert, or even just interested, and you want the potential to win rewards and earn some extra cash, now's your chance!
Pay: Varies but includes gift cards, games, and potential financial compensation.
Address: Toronto (details will be provided if you are selected)
Why you must participate: You can earn money while doing what you already do in your free time! All while discovering and being one of the first to play new games.
