It was a quiet year for music festivals this year, but perhaps next year will be different. Osheaga 2021 was just confirmed and apparently, it’s going to be “bigger and better” than ever before.

In a message shared on December 7, the festival’s official Twitter page revealed that the event would be returning between July 30 and August 1 next year.

“Welcome back to YOUR festival,” read the announcement. “Osheaga 2021 returns bigger and better than ever to celebrate its 15th edition!”

To mark the occasion, headliners will include Foo Fighters, Cardi B and Post Malone.

The event’s website lists information about tickets and payment plans but does not yet provide specific details about possible COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and mask-wearing.

Instead, organizers say, “We are closely following the constantly changing situation and abiding by the new measures put in place by the Quebec government.”

“For this reason, we will wait until we have all the necessary information before communicating the guidelines on the festival site,” explains the FAQ section.

The multi-day festival was suspended in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

This latest announcement could be interpreted as particularly optimistic as Quebec reported a record-high increase in COVID-19 cases on December 5, with 2,031 new positive tests.
