While that might not be in the cards, we have found the next best thing right here in the South. This dinosaur park is just a hop, skip and a jump from Nashville and it's worth a visit. This quick road trip from Nashville to Kentucky should be on your 2020 bucket list.
Dinosaur World in Cave City, Kentucky has life-size replicas of these prehistoric creatures. Your childhood dreams of seeing a dino up close and personal will finally come true. This destination is also in the middle of the woods which makes it feel extra immersive.
You can walk among hundreds of dinos and even participate in the interactive experiences they have placed all throughout the property. Before you leave, you can also stop by the 5,000-square-foot gift shop and museum that has prehistoric artifacts and even beautiful geodes for sale.
This spot is only about an hour and 20 minutes from Nashville, so it can easily be a day trip. You'll know you're at the right spot when you see the ginormous T-Rex standing right next to the Interstate welcoming you to come into the dino jungle.
If you're heading north from Tennessee on a long trip, this is a great place to get out and stretch your legs.
You'll be able to see over 100 dinos at this location, and each of them comes with a little excerpt to tell you about them. As you walk through the forest, you might just see some dinosaur eggs and footprints of a raptor.
The prehistoric giants are made out of fiberglass, steel, and concrete and are made by the employees at the site.
