Taylor Swift Donates To Nashville Record Store & Pays Employee Salaries

Being weeks into the COVID-19 outbreak, it's almost expected that celebrities will give their monetary or creative contributions to help with relief. While many are helping organizations, one major star is reaching her hand down to her Southern roots to help Tennessee. Taylor Swift donates to Nashville record store, helping employees keep their jobs.

Taylor Swift does not speak often on major events, however when it comes to Tennessee, T Swift is all about that Southern pride.

With this pandemic hitting many smaller businesses and mom-and-pop stores the hardest, the country star decided to reach in and assist where she could.

Grimey's is a vintage record store in East Nashville. The local treasure trove was forced to close their doors late last month due the city's "stay-at-home" ordinances to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

Without warning, the co-owner of Grimey's Doyle Davis was contacted by Taylor's publicist letting him know that she'll be paying for three months of health care for all of Grimey's employees as well as giving each of them $3,000.

"I didn’t even know we were on her radar, but she really stepped up to help after the recent tornadoes that struck Nashville and middle Tennessee, and now she’s trying to help a beloved small business in her city," Davis said in an interview with Rolling Stone.

"This assistance from Ms. Swift helps give us a real shot at coming back on the other side of this."

The 24-year-old star has also been helping fans directly by responding to financial pleas through social media.

A New York City-based photographer was struggling to keep her housing and asked Taylor on Tumblr to help her with her finances.

Swift then sent the photographer $3,000 with a note saying "Holly, You've always been there for me. I want to be there for you right now. I hope this helps. Love, Taylor."
