Stranger Things has been the Netflix show to beat for a few years now but the series has remained untouchable. That may all change when Netflix's newest series is released on Oct. 4. What's set this show apart from the others claiming to be the best is that even Netflix realizes the series potential. This new Netflix Canada Superhero Series is probably going to blow us all away.
Raising Dion has been in the works since 2017 but Netflix put it on hold so it wouldn't take away from the Stranger Things thunder. Meaning Netflix has VERY high expectations for this new drama.

What also gives the new series an extra edge is that it's produced and starred in by Michael B. Jordan himself. According to Netflix, the synopsis for Raising Dion is, "A single mom must hide her young son's superpowers to protect him from exploitation while investigating their origins and her husband's death."
Alongside Jordan, the series stars Jason Ritter, Alisha Wainwright, and Ja’Siah Young.
Wainwright, who plays the single mother, has called the series refreshing because “You come across so many superhero stories that usually are from the perspective of the person inflicted with the powers" but this series is about the parents of a child dealing with these issues.
The series already has a big fanbase because of the comics, written by Dennis Liu and Jason Piperberg, that the show is being adapted from. I think it's safe to say that with the release of the Netflix series, and the support of the Netflix advertising team, that fanbase will at least triple overnight.
