Your next binge-watch marathon just got a lot creepier thanks to this brand new horror series. It even has ties to Canada through the filming locations and two of the stars. Netflix Canada's Locke & Key will send shivers down your spine and leave you wanting more.

The series premiered today and there's quite a bit of talk about it online. Netflix first teased the supernatural drama when the trailer dropped last month and gave a mix of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Haunting of Hill House vibes.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, star Darby Stanchfield shared what the 10 episode series is like.

She reportedly told THR, "If you like fantasy, if you like murder mystery or a family show, it's a little bit like Stranger Things meets Harry PotterChronicles of Narnia and Lost in Space all mushed together, but it's very original in the way that you can't say it’s just like one of those shows."

Stanchfield, who you might know as Abby Whelan from Scandal, now plays the role of Nina Locke. She's the mother of three kids Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), Kinsey (Emilia Jones), and Tyler (Connor Jessup).

IMDb notes that Jessup is a 25-year-old actor from Toronto who's been acting since he was 11. His fellow Canadian co-star Kevin Alves was born and raised in Toronto and plays Javi according to IMDb.

Other stars include Thomas Mitchell Barnet, Coby Bird, Asha Bromfield, and Laysla De Oliveira.

The series follows the three Locke siblings who move into a new home after their father's murder. There they discover magical keys that they must protect from an evil demon who is desperate to get ahold of them. It's based on a comic book series with the same name by Joe Hill.

IMDb claims that production took place in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, as well as Toronto.

Its rating on IMDb is 8.1/10 stars from 209 reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, it received 73% on the Tomatometer and a 75% audience score.

Over on Twitter, users who have managed to watch the series within a day of its release have tons of good things to say.

One person wrote that it's "turning out to be so good" and another two people claim that they're "hooked".

This person even found a Harry Potter easter egg.

Another compared it to "Haunting of the Hill House + Sabrina + Riverdale".

This user shared that "I'm going to try to make #LockeAndKey last more than a weekend, so I only watched the first episode today and loved it. I dig that they're loosely following the comics, meaning I can expect some surprises along the way."

You can catch season one of Locke & Key on Netflix Canada for your next cozy night in!
