In case you missed it, Netflix's "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" is officially getting a sequel! The Netflix Original movie was one of the most talked about romantic comedies on Netflix this year! The quirky love story of Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky had viewers all across the country in love and dying for more. Shortly after the first film was released this summer, fans were pleading for the streaming company to produce a sequel!
Although there were rumours this fall that a sequel was in the works, Netflix didn't officially confirm anything until now. Well, they've just released a teaser trailer announcing that it's finally official - Netflix is releasing a sequel to "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" and we literally can't wait!
The Netflix Original movie is finally getting a sequel and Netflix confirmed the news by posting a short teaser trailer for the upcoming film. In the trailer, you can see Lana Condor, who plays Lara Jean laying on her bed from the iconic movie. She's video-chatting with Peter Kavinsky when they jointly reveal the news that they're getting a Netflix sequel.
Here's the full teaser for Netflix's official announcement.
At the beginning of the trailer, Lana Condor gets a phone call from Noah Centineo, who plays Peter Kavinsky, in the phone call they chat about the Christmas holidays. During the conversation, Lana demands that she gets to tell their fans about their "secret".
This is when she drops the news that they're officially making a sequel to "To All The Boys I've Loved Before".
Later on, Lana Condor hints heavily at the storyline for the sequel by mentioning that someone on the phone "will make the perfect John Ambrose". As we've mentioned before, we found out that the next installment of the movie series will definitely focus on Lara Jean's relationship with the Model UN candidate, John Ambrose that she mentions in one of her love letters from the first film.
If you're hoping to get a lot of screen time with Peter Kavinsky, think again, it looks like the sequel is going to focus on Ambrose's character. Don't forget, John Ambrose is the boy that shows up on Lara Jean's doorstep with her love letter in hand in the secret after credits scene at the end of the first film!
