Netflix Canada's Original Christmas Movies Ranked From Best To Worst
Although many people have been checking out and obsessing over Disney+ for the last few weeks, some streaming service users have remained incredibly loyal to Netflix throughout this time. If you're one of those people in the latter category, you may have noticed some of Netflix's 2019 original Christmas movies popping up on the platform recently.
This year, Netflix has focused less on bringing your favourite holiday classics like Elf and Home Alone to its platform (although we are still getting the iconic How the Grinch Stole Christmas), and began focusing on uploading more of its famous original content with a Christmas twist.
The festive movies began rolling out on the first of November with Holiday In The Wild, and have continued all through the month of November, with a few more movies and TV specials coming your way in the early weeks of December.
The holidays are a busy time for a lot of people, with so much shopping to do, family and friends to visit, and gifts to be wrapped, but if you manage to find the time to relax in there, you may just want to check out one of Netflix's awesome original holiday movies from this list.
Klaus
Rating: 91% on Rotten Tomatoes
This year's highest-rated Netflix Original Christmas movie is Klaus, a heartwarming animated movie that tells the story of how the holiday came to be.
Follow Jesper, a failed postman as he works with Klaus, a giant toymaker, to bring peace and Christmas cheer to a remote and miserable mountain town.
Let It Snow
Rating: 79% on Rotten Tomatoes
Coming in at #2 is Let It Snow, a coming-of-age story about a group of high school seniors stuck in a snowstorm on Christmas Eve.
The movie is based on a John Green novel of the same name, and although it's kind of cheesy, the various storylines will definitely tug at your heartstrings.
The Knight Before Christmas
Rating: 73% on Rotten Tomatoes
There are so many reasons to love The Knight Before Christmas, like the fact that it stars Vanessa Hudgens, and was filmed in Canada.
The holiday story brings two people from totally different worlds together under strange circumstances, only for them to fall madly in love.
Holiday In The Wild
Rating: 43% on Rotten Tomatoes
While Holiday In The Wild isn't necessarily a bad movie, it really doesn't have much to do with Christmas at all, which is likely why it got a low rating.
The movie follows a recently single woman who heads out on a solo vacation where she not only finds love for a new man, but also for the elephants that need rescuing.
Holiday Rush
Rating: 4.2/10 on IMDb
HolidayRush just hit Netflix yesterday and has yet to be rated by Rotten Tomatoes, but it's currently sitting at a 4.2/10 on IMDb.
The movie is much different from other Christmas movies Netflix has done this year, and even though the rating isn't as high, it's still worth a watch.
